$11,000
About
Use this elegant pair of antique painted chests of drawers as nightstands on either side of a master bed, or place them in an entryway or living room. Crafted in France circa 1870, each commode sits on tapered and fluted legs over a carved apron embellished with Greek motifs. Each cabinet features spline columns along each side, decorated with acanthus leaf motifs; the chest features three drawers across the front dressed with the original painted brass handles and matching escutcheons; the top drawer is decorated with carved spiral geometric motifs. Both sides are embellished with raised panels. The surface, decorated with front recessed corners is dressed with a faux marble painted top. Both Louis XVI style cabinets are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich textured and rubbed patinated painted finish in the off white palette. Measures: 37.75″ W x 18″ D x 32.75″ H.
