19th Century French Forged Iron Fireplace Screen with “Landiers” Bowl Holders
$1,500
About
Decorate your fireplace with this intricate, gothic screen. Crafted in France circa 1880, the beautiful, forged piece sits on two curved legs, decorated with a forged dog or other animal in the middle. The freestanding decorative wrought iron piece features heavy iron scroll work with floral and leaf decor. The antique screen is further embellished by two “Landiers” at each end. Originally, these cup holder elements were used to hold bowls of soup and keep them warm next to the heat of the fire. The fireplace element is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and adorns a rich black patinated finish. Measures: 33.5″ W x 18″ D x 38.5″ H.
