Crafted in France circa 1880 and almost five feet wide, the frame features intricate carvings, including floral and foliate motifs in each corner, and embellished at the pediment with a large central cartouche of flowers, leaves, and ribbons surrounded with a laurel leaf crown in high relief. The frame’s finish features a weathered patina, with traces of light blue and gold highlighting the fine details, giving it a distressed and timeworn appearance that enhances its antique charm. The thick rectangular frame is dressed with a beveled glass, beads decor around the perimeter, and a wood backing from latter addition.
