$1,300
About
Decorate a ranch or hunting lodge with this fine pair of antique prints. Crafted in England circa 1870, each lithograph is set in a giltwood frame and protected with a clear glass panel. The first print titled “Woodcock Hunting”, with corresponding French translation, “La Chasse aux Becasses”, depict a hunter shooting at the bird with several dogs assisting him. The second print is titled “Snipe Hunting”, or “La Chasse aux Grives” ; like the previous print, this one also depicts a hunting scene, featuring men engaged in shooting snipe birds, with dogs assisting in the hunt. The scene is set in a rural landscape, with a house or farm in the background. Both prints appear to be part of a series focused on hunting scenes, possibly from the same artist or publisher. These types of prints were quite popular in the 19th century, often depicting outdoor activities and rural life. Both colorful wall decors are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, well preserved, and adorn soft pastel colors. 23″W x 18.5″H
