About
This elegant fruitwood chest of drawers was crafted in France, circa 1830. The traditional antique commode sits on thick square feet over rounded columns decorated with bronze ring mounts at the top and at the base. The cabinet features three drawers across the front dressed with the original bronze pulls and matching key holes escutcheons, and it has an additional protruded fourth drawer under the top, embellished with a decorative center brass mount. The surface is dressed with the original walnut top. The Empire chest is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Versatile, the cabinet could be used as a wonderful powder room vanity with the addition of a sink, or could simply be placed in an entry or a bedroom for extra storage. Measures: 51.75″ W x 23.5″ D x 35.5″ H.
