Decorate a powder room or entryway with this elegant antique gilt painted mirror! Crafted in France, circa 1870, the ornate pierced pediment features a floral wreath crest cartouche with central ribbon motif, flanked with leaf and floral decor on both sides; the molded frame with extended corners is further embellished with scroll foliage motifs consistent with the decorative richness of the Rococo aesthetic. The Louis XVI style mirror is dressed with the original encased mercury beveled glass plate and original wood backing. The rectangular wall mirror is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a beautiful and rich parcel gold leaf painted finish. New wire and hooks in the back for easy installation. Versatile, the wall decor could also be placed over a console in an entry, or in a living room over a mantel. Weight 35 pounds.
