Versatile, this Louis Philippe gilt mirror could be hung horizontally or vertically in a number of rooms for a traditional French style. Crafted in the Burgundy region of France, circa 1870, the antique mirror has traditional, timeless lines; the rectangular thick and carved stippled frame is decorated with molded scrolling floral motifs in high relief, and further embellished with carved beveled foliate trim around the edges. The Classic wall piece is in excellent condition and dressed with a flat mirror plate, a cardboard backing from later addition, and adorns a rich and bright patinated gold leaf finish. New hooks has been installed on the back for easy handling and installation. a wonderful Size for a powder room, an entry or hallway, or a bedroom!
