About
For a unique lighting feature, look no further than this beautiful, antique Gothic style lantern. Crafted in France circa 1870, this vibrant lantern features four stained glass panels arranged in a shield-like design, showcasing a rich blend of colors. At the center, a striking red diamond is framed by clear, green, and amber-hued glass, evoking the grandeur of medieval ecclesiastical and castle-style lighting. One panel functions as a discreet door, allowing convenient access to the light bulbs. The wrought iron frame is decorated with ornate acanthus leaves at the top, complemented by elegant scrollwork embellishing both the upper and lower sections. Inside, the fixture houses three newly wired lights, each dressed with decorative candle sleeve covers, seamlessly blending historic charm with modern functionality. The Napoleon III style lantern is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns the original patinated black finish with some gilt accents. A wonderful addition for a wine cellar, a powder room or a small entry!
Included: A canopy, loop, and chain; each color-matched to the fixture.
Measures: 11″ W x 11″ D x 26″ H.
