About
Decorate a wall with this colorful vintage painting. Created in France circa 1974, and attributed to artist André Barrière (1918–1975), the piece is housed in a classic gilded frame with protective glass, preserving its vivid colors and dynamic brushwork. The composition captures a colorful beach scene from the Languedoc region, with rolling fields and hills stretching into the distance and a coastal sandy foreground. A rich, vivid blue sky crowns the scene, adding depth and contrast. Executed with expressive strokes and a bold color palette, the painting reflects Barrière’s dynamic style and painterly realism. The painting is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with vibrant colors.
On the reverse, labels attibute the work to André Barrière and indicate that this painting was exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants, a historic Parisian exhibition known for showcasing independent artists outside the academic system. It was part of a set of six works Barrière displayed, categorized under the “Réalistes” (Realists) group.
