The writing desk is crafted from solid oak wood and stands on cabriole legs ending with sabot feet over a scalloped apron. The top lifts up and folds down to reveal a large black leather writing surface (from later addition) with a theater comprising of three inside drawers, six divider compartments and a small center tabernacle door. The fruitwood cabinet is skillfully carved on all sides with exquisite tavern scenes, men drinking and partying. The large scriban secretary is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and adorns a rich walnut patina. Measures: 46″ W x 31″ D x 57″ H.
