$2,800
About
Bring this vibrant antique porcelain piece into your living room, office, or bedroom for a unique flair. This colorful, extremely detailed majolica figurine composition was created in France, circa 1880; it features a beautiful boat cresting small waves, with an exquisitely dressed group inside, including a gondolier in a traditional Louis XV clothing steering the Venetian boat with a removable wooden rowing oar, and a gentleman and woman seated, with the man serenading his lover with a mandolin while the woman fans herself. The whole boat is lifted on four legs crafted to look like fish-dragon heads, flowers, and a draping tapestry, with seashell and flower arrangements at the center of each side. This barbotine composition is in excellent condition, with a light pastel color palette. Measures: 18.5″ W x 9″ D x 22.5″ H.
