Pair of 19th Century French Louis XVI Carved and Painted Upholstered Armchairs
$6,600
About
Decorate an office or a study with this elegant pair of antique fauteuils; crafted in France circa 1880, the “Crapaud” chairs (or “toad” chairs) stand on tapered and fluted legs decorated with floral rosette medallions motifs at the shoulder, over a bombe and straight apron. Each armchair with gracious lines, is embellished with curved and upholstered armrests which lead seamlessly up around the back of the chair. The rounded back and the wide and deep seat dressed with loose cushion, are upholstered with a muted, light beige toile fabric. The colorful and comfortable Louis XVI style armchairs are in excellent condition and adorn a beautiful textured patinated and rubbed off white painted finish. Measures: 29″ W x 26.25″ D x 36″ H.
