19th Century French Louis XVI Mahogany and Bronze Folding Game Table with Felt
$2,600
About
Decorate a game room or a den with this elegant folding card table. Crafted in France circa 1930 and built of mahogany wood with marquetry and inlay decor throughout, the rectangular table stands on tapered legs ending with bronze sabots feet over a straight apron dressed with a single side drawer; opening the drawer, it reveals a backgammon game, chips, and other goodies. The table top built with parquetry lifts up and turns to reveal a larger surface upholstered with green velvet and secured with a brass band around the perimeter. The Louis XVI style game table is in very good condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Practical and versatile, the table could also be used as a side or occasional table. A little damage to the felt (see detailed images). Measures: 29.5″W x 20.5″D x 29.5″ H (closed) 29.5″ x 41″ (opened).
