Vintage French Carved Chestnut & Oak Trestle Dining Table from the Pyrenees
$16,000
About
This long antique dining room table was crafted in the French Pyrenees, southwest France, near the Spanish border. Built with 18th century chestnut and oak timber and over 8 feet in length, the table stands on two hand carved double-baluster legs ending with shoe base, and connected with a wide bottom stretcher for a sturdy, monastery look. The thick 3” tabletop features an elegant frame work made with a center single plank of walnut; the top edges are further dressed with decorative metal brackets around the perimeter. From the structure to the finish, the large Louis XIII style trestle table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a stylish, rich walnut patina with natural distress. The farm table would sit 8 to 12 people comfortably. A true one of a kind! Measures: 98″ W x 33″ D x 29.5″ H.
