About
This antique wooden and iron safe, was crafted in Paris, France, circa 1870. The black painted and polished iron safe stands on a separate carved oak base decorated with a straight bottom plinth. The safe is topped with a removable oak surface. The front features a heavy center door with key hole and four brass knobs, each with a four-letter code combination. When set on the right letter, and when the lock releases using an intricate mechanism (watch video), the door opens to reveal an inside adjustable shelf for ultimate storage. The secure safe is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a beautiful two-tone black and silver finish throughout with some gilt trim accents. Key included. Very heavy and authentic! The safe combination is currently “AAAA” but any four-letter combination can be set. 23.5″W x 15.75″D x 31.5″H (safe only) 26.5″W x 17.5″D x 48″H (with base and top)
