Pair of 19th Century French Wrought Iron “Landiers” Andirons with Fleur de Lys
$1,800
About
Decorate a fireplace with this elegant pair of antique wrought iron andirons with matching cross bar. Forged in France, circa 1820, and standing on three feet, the andirons called “Landiers” in French, feature a rounded shape cupped top; they were once used in homes as a food warmer. For instance, a bowl of soup could rest on the andiron cup to keep it warm near the hot fire. The Classic fireplace accessories are in excellent condition and adorn a rich patinated rust finish. The three-piece Gothic style andirons are further dressed with decorative twisted iron rope decor and Fleur-de-Lys motifs welded inside a round ring.
