About
Decorate a powder room or entry with this elegant antique mirror. Crafted in England circa 1780, the ornate Rococo style mirror is rectangular in shape with rounded edges, and showcases a beautifully carved wooden frame adorned with gilded embellishments. At the top, a sticking three dimensional gilded eagle sculpture, its wings outstretched in an elegant pose, symbolizing strength and power which adds a dramatic vertical element to the piece; the bird is flanked with scrolling acanthus leaves and floral decor on both sides. The mirror is dressed with the original mercury glass with subtle beveled edge, and the original wood backing. The George III period mirror is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a beautiful two-tone walnut patina with gilt accents; it is not just functional but ideal for placement in a formal living room, entryway, or above a small mantel. Its commanding presence and ornate detailing make it a conversation-worthy statement piece that reflects the elegance of a bygone era. 24.5″W x 45.25″H
