18th Century Italian Carved Baroque Giltwood and Painted Wall Frame
$5,300
About
Decorate an entry or hallway with this antique wall decor. Crafted in Italy, circa 1760, this ornate frame features an elaborate baroque-style frame with gilded scroll work associated with a teal-blue background. The frame is intricately carved, with prominent acanthus leaf motifs and floral elements that give it a rich, decorative flair. The top of the mirror is crowned with a large, gilded flourish, which adds to the grandeur of the piece, while the bottom has similarly detailed embellishments that balance the overall design. The frame itself has a uniquely shaped, curved glass that complements the fluid, organic lines of the frame. Its gilded and colored finish speaks to Rococo or Baroque influences, making it a stunning decorative artifact. The Louis XV style wall decor is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich gold leaf rubbed and patinated finish. Adding a new mirror, it could also be used in a powder room. Measures: 25.5″ W x 42″ H.
