This tall antique terracotta sculpture was crafted in Belgium, circa 1880. The piece is signed on the side G. Van Vaerenbergh with the number 246, and it depicts two expressive, young boys in rustic clothe playing. Excellent condition with rich polychrome colors. The artist, Gustave Van Vaerenbergh (1873-1927), was a Belgium sculptor; he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. He was mainly known for his women’s busts and children compositions.
