Decorate a dining room or a living room with this signed C.F. Baker antique sculpted alabaster plaque. Created in Belgium, circa 1890 and set in a carved frame with gilt accents, the artwork depicts a festive scene in the manner of David Teniers, featuring several miniature people motifs enjoying life with intricate plant and building decor in the background. This sculpture plaque displays fine textured details throughout and is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use. David Teniers the Younger or David Teniers II (1610-1690) was a Flemish Baroque painter, print maker, draughtsman, miniaturist painter, staff age painter, copyist and art curator. He was an extremely versatile artist known for his prolific output. He was an innovator in a wide range of genres such as history painting, genre painting, landscape painting, portrait and still life. He is now best remembered as the leading Flemish genre painter of his day.
