Display your rifle or shotgun collection in this beautifully carved, antique gun cabinet. Created in France, circa 1880, the important two-piece buffet sits on bun feet over a thick bottom plinth with recessed corners. The upper section decorated with spline columns and bird motifs in the corners, features a stag head with antlers in the center and flanked with carved vine motifs on both sides. The upper section has the original glass panel doors; when opened, the inside features slots for gun stock and barrel; the display would accommodate up to 9 guns in the upright position. The bottom section has two drawers across the front decorated with carved branch-form handles. Each door panel features two oval medallions decorated with hand carved fox and dog sculptures in high relief. The inside reveals a middle shelf for additional storage. The tall gun cabinet is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich oak patina. Guns not included. Two keys included. Measures: 57″ W x 24.25″ D x 95.5 ” H.
