About
Decorate your fireplace with this elegant antique screen. Crafted in France circa 1870 and built of bronze, the shaped screen sits on four curved feet and features traditional Rococo detailing typical of the 18th century French design aesthetic, including asymmetrical foliage swaths and swirling acanthus leaves; it is further embellished with a center medallion cartouche depicting two cherubs playing around and blowing on a fire; the craftsmanship is delicate, with fine details in both the decorative elements and the positioning of the figures. The fireplace essential is dressed with a protective mesh wire on the facade and embellished with an intricate top handle for easy handling. The Rococo style screen is in good condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated gilt finish. Small hole in mesh see detailed images. Measures: 29.25″ W x 8.5″ D x 28″ H.
