Decorate a kitchen wall or a shelf with this important antique platter. Created by Charolles earthenware, in Burgundy France circa 1870, the large hand-painted ceramic plate depicts a center medallion with two cherubs kissing. Above the cherubs, is a winged face flanked by two cranes intertwined with flowing acanthus leafs. The scalloped, flower-shaped rim is richly decorated with delicate floral and foliate motifs in blue, yellow, and green, creating a harmonious and pastoral charm. The vibrant colors and intricate detailing reflect the artistry of Charolles faience. The ceramic plate is in excellent condition, commensurate with age and use, this decorative wall faience would make a remarkable addition to any porcelain collection.
