19th Century French Patinated Spelter Jockey and Horse Sculpture Table lamp
$1,300
About
Decorate a man’s desk, or lady’s writing table with this wonderful antique lamp composition. Crafted in France circa 1880 in the style of French sculptor F.. J. Mene, the subject built of spelter metal, depicts a jockey standing beside his horse, both positioned on a rectangular base. The jockey is dressed in traditional riding attire, complete with a cap, holding the reins of the horse, which stands calmly by his side. The intricate detailing in the figures highlights the muscles of the horse and the folds in the jockey’s clothing, emphasizing the craftsmanship of the piece. The lamp pole with new wiring extends from behind the figures, creating an unobtrusive but functional light source. This lamp is in excellent condition and adorns a rich bronze patinated finish; the light would be ideal for equestrian enthusiasts or those interested in sporting themes! Sold without shade.
