This fine, antique ceramic sculpture was crafted in France, circa 1880. Called “Les Deux Gosses” (the two kids), the sculpture features an outdoor scene with two young boys. One child stokes the fire while the other watches. Two older people are looking on from above. The figural work of art is signed on the front Joseph Le Guluche (1849-1915) and is in excellent condition with wonderful details and rich patina. Joseph Le Guluche was born in Plourivo ( CM tes d’Armor ) on September 19, 1849 and died in Villejuif on January 19, 1915. He was a French sculptor who mainly used terracotta as his medium. His work is divided into several broad categories: seascapes, rural subjects, and female allegories. A set of his works are preserved in the MusM)e d’Art et d’Histoire Louis-Senlecq in L’Isle-Adam, France. Measure: 12″ W x 6″ D x 13″ H. SKU: 53-465
