About
This elegant paper binding press was forged in France, circa 1870. The Classic “Presse a Relier” made of solid iron is almost square in shape with scalloped edges, and features scrolled motifs on the facade, and the top is connected to the manual screw controlled by a wide top double-handle. This heavy tool is in excellent working order, and adorns a rich patinated gun barrel finish and gilt painted finish. Decorate a shelf with this wonderful accessory in a study or library! In the old days, this kind of device was used to press together the book’s sheets together before receiving a bookbinding. Measures: 14″ W x 12″ D x 12″ H.
