Hand carved from Veronne Italy circa 1820, this antique shell form dish was originally at the entrance door of a private chapel; in its original placement, this stoup was inserted into the wall and was used to hold the Holy Water. The variegated red marble church recipient with elegant gadrooned lines and scalloped rim, is in excellent condition and has a rich, aged patinated finish.
