Decorate a man’s office or study with this antique bull sculpture. Created in France, circa 1920 and set on an oval black marble base, the bronze sculpture depicts a standing defiant bovine on rocky ground and getting ready to charge. The artwork is not signed but done in the manner of Isidore Jules Bonheur. The bull sculpture is in excellent condition with wonderful details and adorns a rich patinated finish. Weight 30 pounds. Isidore Jules Bonheur (1827-1901), is best known as one of the 19th century’s most distinguished French animalier sculptors. Bonheur began his career as an artist working with his elder sister Rosa Bonheur in the studio of their father, drawing instructor Raymond Bonheur. Initially working as a painter, Isidore Jules Bonheur made his Salon debut in 1848. Measures: 17″ W x 8″ D x 16″ H.
