Early 20th Century French Louis XV Gilt Iron Six-Light Chandelier
$2,975
About
This elegant chandelier would make a lovely addition over a kitchen island, in a billiard room, or dining room over a long rectangular table. Crafted in France circa 1920, and almost 4.5 feet wide, the large iron country French chandelier is oblong in shape and suspended by two chains connected at the top. The center part of the chandelier features a symmetrical, ornamental design made up of interlocking iron elements of floral motif that form a lattice pattern. This creates an intricate, almost lace-like effect that contrasts with the heavy, robust material of the wrought iron. The lattice is framed by scroll work, which adds a sense of fluidity and movement to the otherwise structured design. It features six curved arms with six lights newly wired, and dressed by real wax candle cover sleeves. The long Louis XV style fixture is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns the original patinated iron finish with gilt accents. Included: A canopy, loop, and chain, each color-matched to the fixture. Measures: 54″ W x 18″ D x 32″ H.
