French Carved Walnut Oval Dining Table on Double-Pedestal Base

This elegant and large oval dining room table was crafted using old antique timbers, and followed an 18th century design from the Pyrenees of France. Built of solid walnut, the table sits on a trestle base, supported with a pair of hand carved “Montferrer” pedestal legs, ending with molded shoe base, and connected with a thick bottom stretcher at the bottom. Each leg support is further embellished with a decorative wrought iron diamond shape mount at the bottom. The large race track shaped surface with carved edges, is decorated with an exquisite marquetry band decor, and is further dressed with four decorative forged iron diamond nails, two on each side. The long and wide refectory table is in excellent condition and adorns a rich walnut patina throughout. A wonderful breakfast table that would easily sit eight to ten people. Measures: 97.25″ W x 48.5″ D x 30″ H.
