About
Decorate a dining room table or kitchen counter with this important antique dough bowl. Crafted in England circa 1920, and over seven feet long, the huge center piece is hand carved in one block of elm wood, and the worn and aged patina adds to its authenticity, reflecting its long history of use. The large and heavy centerpiece is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich light walnut patinated finish. Today, the long carved bowl could be used filled with fruits or dry flowers, and be placed on a table, or kitchen counter. Weighs over 130 pounds! Such bowls were commonly used in European households, particularly in rural areas, for kneading and preparing bread dough, a bowl this large was likely used in a bakery where lots of dough could be prepared at one time.
