Late 20th Century French Carved Oak and Chestnut Monastery Trestle Farm Table
$6,800
About
This large 8 feet long antique dining table was crafted in southwest France circa 1980. Built with antique and reclaimed old timbers of oak and chestnut, the heavy table stands on an elegant trestle base made of chestnut, supported with hand carved Montferrer style legs ending with molded shoe base, and connected with a thick bottom stretcher which gives the table a sturdy, monastery look. The wide rectangular top features an elegant frame work decorated with circular peg motifs throughout the surface. From the structure to the finish, this Louis XIII style refectory table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a stylish, rich walnut patina with exquisite and wonderful distress. The large table would sit 8 to 10 people; a wonderful size for a large breakfast room or dining room. Measures: 90.25″ W x 44″ D x 30″ H
