About
This beautiful, feminine faience birdcage would make a lovely addition to a woman’s office or study. Crafted in Rouen, Normandy circa 1960, the cage stands on tapered feet over a straight apron decorated with foliage motifs. The scalloped dome top is dressed with a brass hook and chain at the pediment, over a round body embellished with metal bars all around. The inside features a porcelain, blue and yellow bird sitting on an oak branch, which is accessible thru a small door dressed with a brass knob. The cage is decorated with hand painted floral and leaf motifs throughout in an orange, blue, and green palette on white background. The Louis XV style decorative bird cage is in excellent condition and is truly unique. Place it on a shelf or hang it in a kitchen!
