About
Invite Classic French elegance into your home with this Louis XVI style fruitwood bombe chest of drawers. Crafted in Paris, circa 1960 and built of walnut wood with ormolu mounts accents, the commode stands on fluted and tapered legs decorated with bronze rings at the shoulder, and ending with small sabot feet. Shaped as a half moon, the cabinet is decorated with bronze mounts in the corners; it features a top drawer flanked by faux drawer facades, over two additional drawers, flanked on either side by single cabinet door, all of them dressed with brass handles and embellished with floral marquetry and parquetry trim. Each bombe door is embellished with detailed marquetry inlaid motifs. The surface is dressed with the original shaped variegated marble top in the beige palette. The demi-lune commode is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and adorns a rich walnut patinated French polish. Versatile, the cabinet could be used in an entry, living room or used as a vanity chest in a powder room. Three keys included. Stamped maker’s mark at back, “GRL Selection Meubles”, for further authentication. Measures: 39″ W x 19.5″ D x 35.75″ H.
