Crafted in France circa 1960, and set in a carved giltwood frame, the artwork depicts a 19th century Parisian scene in the impressionist style; the painting is signed in the lower right corner by the artist, T. E Penck. It features a lively Parisian scene with men and elegant women on the street. The style of the painting reminds us of the work of painters such as Eugene Galien-Laloue or Antoine Bouchard. T. E. Penck (or Pencke) was born in France in 1929 and still lives there today. He is well known for his lovely street scenes of Paris featuring horse- drawn cabs and carriages and famous arcade shops. 23″W x 18.5″H
