About
Decorate an outside front door or a backyard with this elegant “Renard” composition (French for fox). Crafted in southern France circa 1960 and made of stone, the foxes are set on a flat and stable base with leaf motifs around the perimeter. Captured in a sitting position, the female has a bold and brave expression, further embellished with two young fox pups at its feet. The stone composition is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated antique weathered finish with evidence of outdoor use. The sculptural art would make a great addition to any garden or outdoor space. The sculpture weighs 40 pounds. Foxes, known for their cunning and adaptability, are frequently represented in folklore and mythology worldwide, symbolizing intelligence, trickery, and adaptability. The word comes from Old English “fox,” which is derived from the Proto-Germanic “fuhsaz.” Measures: 16.75”W x 9.5” D x 9.75” H
