Pair of 18th Century French Carved Polychrome Columns with Vines, Grapes, Leaves
$5,800
About
Decorate your wine cellar with these antique, carved columns. Hand carved in France, circa 1750, the tall painted carvings stand on a sturdy square base at the bottom and feature a rounded plate at the top to hold any interesting object. Each scrolling column has a wine theme which includes grape, floral and vine decor; it is further embellished with birds resting on the vines. Both of the architectural pieces are outfitted with a polychrome and painted finish in a green and mustard palette, and would make interesting pedestals to support other works of art, such as a bust, or a plant . They could also be placed as architectural elements in a den, game room or study. Measures: 67″ H.
