Pair of 19th Century French Brass “Holy Trinity” Candle-Holders or Pic-Cierges
$795
About
Decorate a console or a mantel with this elegant pair of antique candlesticks. Crafted in France circa 1880, each “Pic-Cierge” stands on scrolled feet over a triangular base with an elegant, classical silhouette. Each side is decorated with religious symbols in high relief; One medallion features Jesus Christ the Son, depicted with flowing hair, a serene expression, and a radiant halo. Opposite of the son is a commanding image of God the Father, portrayed as a bearded elder with solemn intensity. The third side displays the Holy Spirit as a dove descending in a burst of divine rays and swirling clouds, an enduring symbol of peace in christian art. The tall, fluted columns rise to broad bobeches, completing the elegant neoclassical design. The pair of religious sculptures are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and each adorns a two-tone patinated and gilt bronze finish. Candles not included. Measures: 7.25″ W x 7.25″ D x 21.25″ H.
