Pair of 19th Century French Porcelain & Brass Table Oil Lamps with Floral Motif
$1,700
About
These elegant antique oil lamps were crafted in France, circa 1870. The “Lampes a Petrole”, converted into table lamps, sit on round brass bases, and feature the original flame regulator mechanism including the off and on turning key at the pediment. The flame regulator mechanism, was originally used to adjust the height of the wick, allowing precise control over the flame size and light intensity. Each colorful porcelain stem is decorated with hand painted floral and leaf motifs. Both Napoleon III fixtures are in excellent condition with new wiring, and wonderful pastel colors in the white, light purple, green and pink palette. Place these oil lamps on bedside tables or nightstands, or use them in a dining room on a console or buffet. Shades not included. Measures: 5.5″ diameter 21″ height.
