Pair of Early 20th Century Italian Carved Giltwood Wall Sconces with Leaf Motifs
$2,900
About
Make an elegant statement in your home with this important pair of antique giltwood wall sconces. Crafted in Italy circa 1920, each sconce showcases exquisite craftsmanship and Baroque-inspired design, featuring ornate acanthus leaf motifs that spiral upward in a dramatic flourish. Each sconce is supported by three delicately curved metal arms emerging from a central stem adorned with acanthus leaves. The three lights have new wiring and are dressed with decorative candle sleeve covers. The gold leaf finish enhances the intricate details of the carving, adding a touch of opulence and timeless elegance. These large sconces combine both form and function, making them a striking decorative element for a traditional or classically styled interior. The tall Baroque style light fixtures are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn the original rubbed patinated gold leaf finish. Versatile, these whimsical sconces could be placed on either side of a mirror in a powder room, or dining room, or on both sides of a mantel. Measures: 14.5″ W x 35.5″ H.
