About
These elegant, antique urns were created in Luneville, France, circa 1970. The tall ceramic vases stand on square bases over a bombe body decorated with ram head handles, and embellished with a cone shape lid. Each colorful piece is hand painted with Classic blue, yellow and white palette in the Rouen manner and decorated throughout with cornucopia and floral motifs. The unique porcelain vase has a decidedly oriental look, and is signed “Saint Clement” on the bottom. The exotic unique vessels are in excellent condition with rich, well-maintained colors; place these decorative vases on a mantel or a console. Stamped on the bottom “Saint Clement, Fait Main, Tradition Rouen”. The Faience of Luneville – Saint-Clément has been the heir of the prestigious pottery of Lorraine since the 18th century. The manufacture of Luneville was founded circa 1730, while that of the St. Clement was founded, circa 1758. Measures: 10″W x 7″D x 20″H.
