Hand carved near Venice, Italy, circa 1960, this large antique sculpture sits on an integral square red and gilt wooden pillow base; it features a greyhound figure sitting on back legs, its head up at attention as if ready to follow any command given. The canine is further dressed with a silvered and gilt collar around the neck. The work of art is adorned with a silvered patinated finish, very realistic shape and details, and is set on a sturdy base. The Venetian dog sculpture is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and could be used to decorate an entry way, or a study. A must have for any animal lover! Measures: 11″ W x 10″ D x 33.75″ H.
